1. It's called a halogen bulb, as in the family of gases.

2. You have them in your car already, but I'm going to assume you mean the
whiter variety (osram silverstars etc.).

3. You'll see a connector on the back of the headlight with a rubber boot around it. You need to remove this connector by twisting it and then put in the new bulb.
Careful not to crack the bulb/headlight when you twist.

also when you change your bulb make sure not to touch the glass. The oils from your finger will cause a hot spot and cause the bulb to burn out. if by accident you do touch it. wipe it down with alchohol.

Don't put in blue bulbs....companies advertise that blue halogen bulbs will give you better light output and better vision...the truth is that they will do the exact oposite. go with some silverstars or PIAA headlight bulbs. they will give you the best night vision as far as a halogen bulb goes. if you are really looking to see well at night and have about 300$ to spend on lights...go for some HID's ( high intensity discharge) you can get an hid plug and play kit for around 300. from what i hear about them you won't regret it. 3 times the light output of a halogen bulb and they last ten times as long before burning out...
