Need help fast please
Hi I'm new here. Just got an auto 98 integra gs yesterday and the shift lever wad weird but I was ok with it. Today I go get gas and select d4 and it's crazy hard to pull the lever back. In fact it won't go past d4. And p (park) is nutural. I'm very aggravated as to what could cause this. Shift cable bad? Or the shifter itself broken maybe? Any input is greatly appreciated. By the way my tranny fluid is full. I did check that
SELECT LEVER for 1998 Acura INTEGRA HATCHBACK
I suspect the cable #33, [could be binding] but I would also check the switch assembly #3 [make sure it is properly mounted and moving freely] next would be the solenoid #6 and its linkage #8, make sure it is working, [releasing lever when brake stepped on] I would also look at the lever #28 and its parts #s 14-29 and so on.
I would start by disconnecting the cable from the lever and see how it shifts, if still binding the problem is the cable or at the transaxle itself, if it shifts properly then the problem is at the lever end. 94
