Anybody have any idea what wrong with my engine......I got a 94 teg with a b18 and lately I have been experience some problem with it.....when I start the car and switch it to reverse I heard a voice from the engine is like a crank noise...I thought that was unusual because my neighbor teg just switch smoothly without any noises.....In fact when I switch it to drive it feel like the engine jump forward.....It didn't do it smoothly I still hear the noise...A couple of week ago I ask my friend the problem he told me that their something wrong with the transmission and it going to broke down soon....Today when I turn on the car it crank but it wouldn't start........so I waited 30 second and try again...but it start and it shut off....So I give it a third try and it start out fine....but I'm afraid that It will give me problem later on....If anybody know anything about this problem can you let me know....thx in advance........please help

 

hmm is your battery connected right? check all fluid levels including tranny fluid as well

 

Is your check engine light on...do you have an automatic? I'm leaning toward the transmission because my 94 RS used to do that...usually means the tranny is goind bad. Could be the cluth though. Yeah..I'd say check your battery, connections and fluids first since it's quick and easy.

 

did it turn over? it could be a coil going out or a ingnitor

 

Yes my teg is auto....my engine light is not on......I did take a look at all my fluid and is all fine.....if the tranny is going bad than what is the worst thing it will happen....can it be fix

 

When you first start your car, the engine is set to a higher rev to warm the engine up. If you jump in and start the car and throw it into reverse or drive, the idle is high and it will jump into gear. Try letting it warm up until idle comes down to around 750 rpms, then put it in reverse or drive and let us know what it does.
