Need help with b18
I got a 94 gsr with a b18 and my crank shaft went on me. im debating either to get a refurbished one or buy a new one. Also i got the numbers on the motor but where can i check if its legit. thanks in advanced for your help.
The numbers on the motor? I thought you just wanted the crank?
Anyway, just run a carfax on the Vin number on the motor and that will tell you. Cranks are cranks...unless they were cut. Honda doesn't sell oversized bearings if your crank was cut, so you'll have to go with aftermarket ones.

well i kinda mixed 2 thoughts on one post. but im i better off with a refurbished crank or new one? can i throw a diffrent crank from another b type motor to improve performance? thanks
which b18 is it? you can swap any b-series crank in as long as you get the right rods for the set-up. i'd go with a brand new crank because i hate turned cranks, and he'd need undersized bearings, not oversized... honda's color code covers undersize i think to -.010. but i wouldn't even mess with a turned crank., i'd say look at the spoon stroker for b16b's. its a pretty good deal, for like 1100 bucks you get a gsr/itr crank, itr rods, and ctr pistons, all honda parts
. also might want to look at the crower and eagle crank kits. they have 4340 cranks from about 1000 dollars. other than that i think a new crank from honda is about 1000
