Default need help

ight check it out i have a 99 gsr. i am having trouble getting my fans to turn on. i replaced the ect sensor and they are still not turning on. i know it is not a relay because if i hold a wire to the two prongs in the male plug the fans turn right on. i tried to heat the back end of the old ect sensor while it was pluged in and it didnt work i havent done it to the new one because i dont really want to drain, take apart then fill it again. this has caused me too replace my radiator and i am not trying to do that again for the fact that im not rich. the funny thing is that my car does not over heat, i let it sit out today for about 30 min it ran hot (about half way on temp gauge) but its not over heating. i need to get this fixed. im tired of useing my parents truck and i need to get to school please if any body has any insight on this help.

you might not have a problem. if it doesnt overheat, and fans dont turn on after a long time at idle you might not have a thermostat, bad thermostat (stuck open) or not the right one.

if the thermostat was stuck open wouldnt it still trigger the fans since the back of the ect sensor is getting fluid and hot

cause if your thermostat is stuck open your engine isnt heating up correctly, and is not getting the coolant hot enough to turn the fans on it has to be the right temp to turn the fans on , turn your a/c on if you have it and see if the fans turn on .

I used to have a thermostat problem and my car never heated up past half. To be honest, the highest it got was a quarter on a long drive. I would double check your fuses first.
