Hi guys i have a 12.5:1 compression LS/Vtec setup, and im currently running a magnaflow muffler... and its really loud, and raspy, i was thinking about getting a different muffle to try and find a little quieter, but mostly a deeper sound.. any suggestions?

 

Do you have a resonator on your exhaust setup? I also have a Magnaflow muffler, and it was exactly what you have right now before I had a resonator welded in - loud and raspy. But after, the raspiness was gone, the sound level went down, and the exhaust note is also deeper.

 

yea i do have a resonator, for a bit i didnt, and it was beyond bearable...

but its still just a little too much for me, i think its the high compression, but some ppl say a different muffler could give me a better sound, but im curious which ones..

 

well i myself would get rid of that exhaust and go with the apexi world sport. by far one of the cleanest exhausts on a teg and also very quite. also i had a greddy evo and it was exactly what you were looking for deep sound and was easy on the ears for crusing but it is loud when you need it like kicking a stag's ***! i had this same problem i tried a obx exhaust and it didnt help and tried world sport and it has been great.

 

Problem with getting one of these cat back exhausts is i only need the muffler, im using Kteller 2.5" piping, b/c none of those companies make a 2.5" exhuast for my car.

 

how much does the world sport muffler go for? and where can i get one...I have and evo2 cat back and i want to change only the muffler...
