Default MSD Removal....

Hey guys,

A friend of mine has a '97 Integra with DART block, GSR head, turbo etc...- also has MSD SCI Ignition box, Blaster external coil, MSD cap and rotor. There's something going on with the MSD box, and he wants to uninstall all the MSD parts and revert back to an internal coil setup just to see if it makes a difference. Anything we should know before we just reconnect all the wires back to eachother? A mechanic told me that some wires colors dont match up, but I'm not sure if he knows whats he's talking about. Thanks for any help in advance.

Matty

Yea, get that **** off. There's no reason to have that on your car. The set up from factory works fine, even under high HP numbers.

Yeah, you're tellin me. Ya know how you need to drill a hole in the dizzy cap and thread some kind of post into it to run the external coil. Yeah, well, if you touch it, you get zapped BAD. Now, the car won't turn over.

Not if its installed correctly. It all depends on how it was installed, but uninstallation is pretty simple. Generally you dont run the wires through the distributor cap....generally you splice the wires on the outside on the dizzy plug (since they just run right inside the distributor) and then you dont have to worry about them getting twisted around the rotor or anything like that....however it doesnt sound like that was done on your friends car.
