i have a 97 teg ls and my motor mount i believe is starting to go out.....the mount thats going out is the one on the drivers side.....my question is do i have to change the mount? or can i jus use some motor mount inserts? i heard putting on motor mount inserts is basically the same as getting new mounts. can anyone confirm this for me? also how hard of a job would this be...some explaination of the steps involved would also help a great deal....thanks

 

you can just get new inserts.. but as far as installing them.. have fun

you'll have to pull both mounts off in order to change the inserts on the one, possibly the tranny mount so dont **** anything up, jack the motor up like an inch to give you some clearance and change the inserts then. g/l and have fun

hey also with the inserts watch out man those things will make the car vibrate liek crazy if you get all of them...atleast for the polyurethane ones

 

yeah.. i have the HASport mounts and my car is rattleing apart.. kinda sucks

 

i have the Energy suspension poly inserts in my otherwise bone stock GSR. my stock mounts were barely holding together, and the inserts worked great. yes, you can feel more vibration through the steering wheel and seat at idle, but the car doesn't rattle apart. my car has 123k on it, so it's no spring chicken. the mount that is a HUGE bitch is the rear one. get someone that has done it before to help you.
