motor mount inserts
does any one have these? like the energy suspension ones? im looking at getting them, but im not sure how hard the install is. and is there realy a noticable difference? the reason i ask is i was readin up on the teamintegra's suspension articles and there was one about reducing wheel hop.
thanks

Im going to get them soon, my rear motor mount is shot, so mine as well replace all 3... It is kind of hard i think, i cant find the link of the install
Mine are still in the garage collecting dust. Over the last 8 months that I have had them I have considered installing them several times, but get too lazy or find something that I would rather do.
I'm aware that these inserts are made to slip over our stock mounts, but what if your stock ones are cracked, etc. Will they still do the job or do we have to get new oem mounts and then throw these inserts over the new ones?
they reduce wheel hop by alot. i went from 11.5 to 10.2 in the 1/8 (ya i sux at driving) just with motor mounts. and thats only with the front 2. im just gonna wait until i take the whole manifold off before i put in the rear one. and install is pretty easy, but its hard to break those bolts loose. we had to use a BIG breaker bar just to get them off.

If you are considering replacement of the motor mounts keep in mind that both ES and Prothane engine mounts will transfer more vibrations into the car. If you drive the car on the street I would recommend ES, softer and less vibration. I have owned both and am currently using the ES as the Prothane ones were too stiff. Felt like the windshield would crack when the car was just idling. Also if you do not need the rear mount do not put it in. It transmits the most vibration. The Prothane mount is a bitch to put in as you have to cut out the liquid filled drivers side mount to put it in.

I guess you don't have to replace cracked mounts if you're gonna have to cut them up anyways

Only the upper drivers side mount you can cut and replace.
So my pessenger and rear mount must be in good shape to use these inserts?

Yes sir. Energy Suspension recommends only to use good mounts. And not to use broken ones.
