Is this more difficult???
I own a 93 prelude VTEC & my right quarter panel is messed up real bad. I wanted to know if it is semi worth it to swap my engine versus fixing my quarter panel??? I found a 3rd gen integra shell for sale, I know people have swapped an h22 into a civic, but I wanted to know if an integra is easeir.
thanks

H22 in an Integra is a pretty sweet setup from what I hear - the torque is great, and the weight difference can be tuned out with the proper suspension setup.
Go for it if you have the time

How much will it cost you to fix the Prelude?
It's not a 'direct' swap. For the H22 swap you will need axles and motor mounts costing over $1,000. The Prelude shifter does not fit in the stock Integra location, so you'll have to modify that as well.

Swap into a civic or an integra is virtually the same, both require some parts.
Off the top of my head?
- Aftermarket mounts
- You will probably lose AC (in the DC shell)
- You can salvage PS depending on your engine mount choice (you will also need a 97+ PS pump, you can re-use the main PS line from the DC)
- 90-93 Accord or 92-96 Lude midshaft (this will also affect which axles you need)
- 90-93 Accord or 92-96 shifter and assembly
- New exhaust pieces
- New axles (Wich ones depends on your midshaft selection)
- resistor box
- New rad hoses for the DC
- Various Honda nuts and bolts
Fitting the H22 shifter assembly will require you only to widen the hole in the DC, it's not hard. Make sure you put a tin shield under the hole after it's all together, it heats up the cabin something fierce.

Damn. That's a lot of work. It's exactly the same as doing a H22 into a civic that's in the tuner magazines. It's that when I bought my car I didn't check out the body to well just that the motor was money. My right 1/4 is full of mud & the other day I was backing into a spot @ my job & I hit the right 1/4 & now it's dented & cracked. My guys @ my body shop are going to help me out but I do have to pay them a little something. So just wanted to see if I had any other options w/ my engine.
Thanks for all the info guys. Maybe one day I'll do that swap.
