Default modifications??

alright i'm new to this forum and pretty new to the honda sceen.... i just got a 01 GSR and got a N-1 catback exhaust, aem intake, spark plugs, skunk 2 suspension, and some basic exterior work done, but i was wondering what else i could do to make this car faster w/o forced induction or swapping out the engine. I was thinking of getting DC headers and skunk 2 cam gears. What does everyone else think?? anything i could get better than skunk 2 for cam gears and for headers what kind should i get? the 2 peice or the 1 piece?? any feed back is wellcome

if you have an intake, then get a bigger throttle body and i. manifold. DC headers are ok but depending on how much you want to spend there are better. theres no point in having cam gears if your not replacing your stock cams (assuming). Also get a fpr to inc. fuel psi, that will help to even things out (air/fuel).

-that will satisfy you for now...

you could get some cams, and cam gears if you wanna get into that. Then you could tune it with the larger throttle body and intake manifold, as well as, a good header. The cheaper ones really dont add that much horsepower, so there isnt much of a need.

Cam gears suck, If you get em get a reputable brand.. But still they can slip.

Without boosting or going with nitrous.. Your gonna need to get rid of the stock GSR manifold.. I'd suggest a BLOX. Get more aggressive cams and valvetrain to support high rev's. Mild port and polish on the head and a good tune..

Then eventually when you can tear the bottom end down and bump the compression

Get some itr camshafts. Use your stock cam gears. A nice edelbrock intake manifold with some larger injectors, an aem fuel pressure reguator and fuel rail with a nice gauge would get things going.
