Default missing gears

I just swapped in a 93 ys1 gsr tranny into my 90 ls and for some reason im missing 5th and reverse. 1st gear is where 3rd should be and then it goes on from there. 2nd=4th,3rd=5th,4th=reverse. Has anyone ever had this problem or anything similiar? Im thinking that when it was rebuilt they didnt line something up right in the tranny! Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated!

You should bring this issue up to whoever "they" are and ask them to explain and fix the problem. Only way to tell for sure is drop that tranny and crack it open.
That sucks dude I hope you can get that taken care of.

thats the crappy part. It was rebuilt before the guy that i bought it from. And i dont have a problem with getting it fixed because i only paid 600 for the tranny!

only $600!
No offense, but if i'm kickin out that much cash on a tranny, that crap better work perfectly. Does the guy who you bought it from know who rebuilt it?
If you crack it open and it's clearly missing gears or not put together right, and the work was done at a shop, i'd seriously pusuit that before you kick out more money to rebuild a trans.
That's alot of extra cash on top of the initial cost for a ys1

yeah i know! Im not having anything done until he come out to look at it in more detail. And if it does need to be rebuilt hes going to pay for it. Hopefully he will cooperate with this whole thing. Do you think i over paid even if it was working fine? Let me know something.

i'd say the price is relatively consistent with prices i've seen on here but that's for mint working, no grind trannies.
