Default missing in cylinder 1 problem help!!! updated info!

hey guys,

i am having problems with my gsr. my check engine light came on the other day. and i had it checked out. it through some codes about it missing in cylinder 1. im not sure what to do. when the car is cold it runs bad. like it is missing in cylinder one. but when it is warm. it runs fine. i changed spark plugs. and got a induction cleaning system thing done the other day. i need help. because im not sure what to do.

what can i do if i am missing? what is there that i can do?

updated info!!!!
3/4/10

i just change the cap and rotor plugs and wires..
car is still running the same...

the car seems to hick up at about 3000 rpms...
im driving down the road and i shift into 2nd gear and i go kinda slow and the car bogs on me... like its not getting fuel...
my gas gauge isnt working it says the tank is always empty...
im not sure what is going on... does anyone have any suggestions?

What did the spark plugs look like when you changed them, especially #1 cylinder? Check the plug wires, and the cap and rotor. What codes is it throwing exactly?

check yur spark plugs wires for any signs of arching (where ignition is grounding out on engine, quik spray with soapy water will do the trick) while the engines running. if that checks out, then do a compression check. if ok then you prob condemned an injector.

no problem. but if you change the plug, wires, cap and rotor button and you still have the code, its possible you could have a clogged injector.

im not saying hey, go buy a brand new injector... it could just take a bottle of injector cleaner(preferably lucas) and run 93 through it as well.

You should be able to start it up and see if it's misfiring/throwing a CEL, but yeah def wouldn't drive it in the snow

Well obviously a mechanic, or dealership, can do so. Otherwise, you'll need some time/patience, feeler gauges, preferably the snap-on tool for adjusting the valves themselves (there's a locknut and set screw you adjust). I'm sure there's a howto out there, it's not hard, but there's is a specific process. You should get the service manual if doing this work yourself. If you want, tell me what model Integra you have and I'll try to send you more info.

If you've never adjusted them they are likely loose as heck now, depending on how long you've owned the car. I generally check mine every 15k, at worse every 30k.

so the car only has a misfire when it is cold??? how about under a load? (good amount of throttle in higher gear like 3rd?) is the po301 the only DTC stored?

I doubt it's the injectors. Adjusting the valves might do the trick - that seems like your best bet. I also want to know how it reacts under load. Let us know :D

Under load like when you are on the gas going up a hill, you can get the same effect by standing on the brakes and trying to accelerate just in the parking lot or your driveway.
If it was a bad fuel pump it would not have been just 1 cylinder missing it would have been multiple cylinder missfire.
Could be badly adjusted valve as others have said or it could be a bad valve, read all your replies and follow what they are telling you, just chucking parts at it is going to get expensive in a hurry.

if it stops missing after you get the rpms up, the chances are likely that you have a hole in a valve, thats what was wrong with my b20
