Is this method of testing the fuel pump acceptable?
So I wanna test the fuel pump itself, and dont feel like taking the back seat out.
Can I just undo the service bolt on the fuel filter, then apply 12V at the main relay harness, the yellow wire with green stripe?

Yes, but its the messy way... just turn the key into accessory and you should be able to hear it start up. if you dont hear anything then its not working, in which its prolly the relay. If the pump starts up but you're getting no fuel than check your filter.

What you said is checking if fuel pump is working or not.
How do you check if fuel pump is degraded (ie not performing at its peak)?
