Default max boost for an ls....post the problems.

hey i am gonna see how high i can boost my ls. mostly street tuned motor. fresh top end gaskets and valve train. what blows first on an ls? i heard si's crack sleaves under boost any higher than like 15psi i think it was. well i never really hear horror stories about b18a/b's blowing up and never personally saw it happen other than my own which was just a head gasket. street tuned 20psi possible for an almost all stock internal b18a1? i dont think i will snap, stretch or bend a rod. im really most worried about the sleaves holding up. i figure as long as im not detonating like a **** i should be fine right? i will be running cam2(110 octane leaded) race gas. please post horror stories and pix of blown up boosted ls's. wasnt cheeze frog layin like 400hp down on a stock internal b18/b20? maybe not? im planning on using a big 16g turbo so i doubt i will be abled to spool over 22psi. any1 know how to convert compression test numbers to ratio form? i'd like to measure real compression

just depends on the condition of your motor. a compression test will give you more answers.

Cheezefrog had stock sleeves. He had forged pistons and rods.

o. thanks. my engine is in great condition. stock 1990 bottem end, p+p head, valve job, decked a lil with fresh valvetrain(oem). new head gasket, intake manifold gasket, 95 intake manifold +throttle body. i need a clutch but have to decide plans before i buy the clutch and flywheel. lookin into dual friction with the heaviest aftermarket flywheel i can find. still much lighter than stock to help revving but not really light enough to hurt spool time. whats stock ls compression in ratio form? i know its 185psi. the engine has damn near a mile on it since the head was installed. its got a generic cai on and i ordered a dc sport 4-2-1 header so it should be here next week. i got a few other mods. thinkin bout a set of rc550's, fresh chip for 550's and boost and msd btm or whatever its called. any other ideas? i would put money i have perfect compression on my engine.
