Map sensor keeps failing...
I'm getting pissed now. This is the third map sensor that has failed in the last week. WTF. Any ideas what could be doing it? Did this happen to anyone else?
Oh and the symptoms are starts up fine and then dies...

Basically, there's very few reasons why my car would start up and then die that fast with no spitting, sputtering, dieseling or anything. Just straight up shutting down. I've had a bit of experience with MAP sensors in the past and these are classic symptoms. Plus, after starting it with and without it plugged in, it did the same thing. Not to mention that after I replaced it each time, it would start and run just fine. I HATE DOING ELECTRICAL WORK, so if anyone has any other ideas, PLEASE let me know. hahahaha.
MAP sensors are very susceptible to damage from fuel and oil vapors.
Get a pressure gauge tester and measure the resistance of the sensors as per the helms manual to verify the sensors are bad.

I had the same problem, and its actually a pretty dangerous one, sometimes i wouldnt throw the code until i was actually driving and the car would die, most of the time crossing traffic. andways i checked all the vaccum lines and the entire wiring harness and didnt find anything suspicous. i thought i would have to buy a new clip but i tried this first and it worked. I unplugged the three clips to my ecu for 15 sec. and tried it out. i got 4 complete cranks with no problem, no cel. i test drove it and went all the way the gears to make sure it wouldnt die, stopped, cranked again and drove back, pushing the car hard to make sure it wasnt going to fail under any driving condition. So far, so good.
give it a shot.
