Default Making a shift light

I want to make my own shift light to put in my instrument guage cluster. So it will only be seen when it is illuminated. Does anyone know how I could make my own shift light?

making that shift light, also called idiot light, is almost useless to my opinion. jus look at your tach and when its jus before red move your hand to the shifter and shift.

I think the point of it is to help you concentrate on everything else (ie: other driver, other people, the road, etc) so you don't have to look down at the tach. Instead, you can notice the light without having to look anywhere.

Kind of a safety thing I think..
