Default maintainence req. light

well my 97 ls teg has about 85,xxx miles
the maint. req. light now flashes then goes away. i did all the necessary tunes ups (oil change/flush coolant. etc...)
to make a long story short. i was searching that there was some button under the steering column to turn it off. i can't find it. it's prolly right under my nose but seems like i'm blind.
can anyone point me to the right direction. thanks

it's right above the gas pedal. stick your head down the steering column, you should be able to spot it.

its on the inside of the lower panel. put your fingers on the edge of the panel and move right.
you'll feel a rectangular box with a square button.
