Default maint req

I got a 99 ls, the light goes on when the ignition is on, flashes 10 short times. Its kinda time for me to change oil, since the last time I did it was 3 months ago, and about 3000 kms, so is it because of my oil?
Also the oil level was in the middle level dot, so I added some more since it was a little bit low.
Anyone knows what the problem here is?

It goes on when the odometer hits a certain amount of miles. I believe every 20,000 miles.

Ok, so what includes a regular maintanance? Things like oil level/change, coolant liquid, stearing/breaks fluid, spark plugs?
I mean what things should I check before winter, because I am not going to take it in for maintanance. Yep, Im cheap.
It hit 65 000 kms. Thanks.

Oil change, that's pretty much it. Maybe spark plugs for a tune up. I thought Canadian cars didn't have a maintenance light, at least the SiR and ELs didn't.
