HEY HONDA-TECH. LS VTEC WILL NOT LINED UP. NEW GSR WP,TENSIONER,BELT FROM DEALER. TRIED IT EVERY POSIBLE WAY. THIS IS MY FIRST LS VTEC NEVER HAD PROBLEM PUTTING TIMING ON MY BUDDIES GSR,OR B16. TOOK THE AEM CAM GEARS OFF PUT STOCK GSR AND SAME
RESULTS.
HERE A PIC THE REAL QUESTION IS: WOULD IT AFFECT ANYTHING?..

 

Well me n my brother had the same problem on a y8 and we tested but it had a huge valve leak so don't move it in till u get it right

look ontop where the cams go threw the head into the cam gears there are is a little hole about an inch inward from the gears you will need to aline the hole on the cam holder with the hole threw the camshaft it takes a .05 in rod will hold inplace for you to put the belt on. putting the rod in both will line the gears up

 

it has no holes thats only in old integras

 

im good at puttting timing never had this prob like i said my first ls vtec. all i know a measure my gsr block and this one the gsr is one cm longer

 

have you tried turning one of the cams one more time? my friends engine was like this but we turned one of the cams and then it lined up properly

 

turn the exhaust side a tad and it should make it line up.

 

I had the same issues with my old LS/V setup, hated having to time it. I could eventually get them to line up just took FOREVER.
