Default ls/vtec computer??

if i use the same computer as vtec head will i still have to get tuning (like hondata or crome) done? i mean im gonna leave everything stock in the head so i wouldnt think i would need a tune but i really have no clue.. just wondering cause i have no place around me that does tuning.. appreciate the help

as far as i know, just run the ECU that goes w/ the head you swapped....

Yes you have to tune it no matter what. The LS/Vtec engine was not a stock engine that Honda built, therefor there is no base map for it to run off of. You also cannot really classify the engine as stock, considering you have a completely different head on the block. You could build the engine with new pistons and everything, and still call it a stock engine since there was no set power, torque, etc. from Honda as to what stock was.
