ls-vtec
Hi,
I am new here and im a mitsubishi guy. Im going to buy a 91 integra ls, 5 speed. The cars engine bay is messed up and the heads is already put in except the intake manifold. My brother has a 92 gsr head with the intake manifold and im thinking on going ls-vtec turbo. i have a complete set turbo kit fot for a eclipse gsx. now i just need a exhaust manifold and some lines to hook it up.
how much is the ls-vtec kit? what do i have to do to make this thing work out? any drilling holes? head gasket to use? wiring harness? ecu? etc...etc...
please help a new guy out. This is my first integra.
Thanks in advance

Well It is pretty hard to build a dependable Ls-V-T. I'd advise you to really do your homework before you do anything. What i would do is have the Crank balanced new piston rings while your at it. Because the LS crank is not built to rev to 8k rpms. Most of all get it tuned right id suggest Hondata. Check out BlackTrax in milpitas too they do a really good job.

Simply put, that is not true. People believe the ls/v is unrealiable because they always seen the half-assed builds blown up on here. It is a lot more rare to seen a blown up on when built right the first time. Any car can have something go wrong, but a properly built ls/v or any other car for that matter is far from being hard to make realiable.
Balancing the crank is basically a waste of money. Honda does a fine job on balancing the crank from the factory. They aren't going to put unbalance parts in a production motor....that would ruin their realiability reputation. I personally have been running around an revvng between 8500-9200 for the last 2.5 years. Plus there are gob loads more setups with more power and revving just as high if not higher than myself.
