Default LS Vtec

LS Vtec in 95' GSR,
Has any one had a problem with RPMs up around 5k the Tach jumps and pegs out car starts to sputter and cut out. I think its the distributor but it was fine before the build. I have a V-AFC and the tach built into it doesn't fluctuate but sometimes when it starts cutting out, the V-AFC turns off and on. It doesn't happen all the time sometimes it will run up to 6k-6500 with no trouble at all, can anyone shed some light on this.
Thanks

my cousin somewhat of that problem, but he couldn't start his car.... they got it running and then started driving.. on the rode the car started to sputter and then turned off by itself. he thought it was the distributor but nope.... later on he found out it was the ground wire.. it loosened itself out.... tightened it back up and was back on the rode with no more problems...... so just take a look around.. there could be soemthing loose
