LS owners, ever encounter this problem?
i have this problem, its a 1994 b18b engine. the engine starts and revs fine, and the tranny goes into gear, yet the car wil not move nor stall if i leave it in gear with the clutch off. the tricky thing is that the speedometer will rise, (up to 20mph in neutral, got it to 60 in 5th but i didnt mash teh gas). i recently put this motor in my eg and i did change the clutch. anyone encounter this problem before? im dying to fix it but i dont knwo what to rip the transmission off yet.
sounds like something is wrong w/ the clutch/tranny. something is not connected if it wont stall when left in gear. i have no idea tho
Never encountered that. I've done approx. 3 clutch installs now, and never had that. Sounds like improper clutch installation though.
Edit, I just had an epiphany...lol...
what if the slave cylinder was not attached to the tranny? I've never tried to detach it and see what would happen, so I don't know for sure.
Just go over everything you did, check the exterior of everything and make sure all is connected/bolted together. If it is, then your problem lies inside the bell housing.

well since the spedometer is reading something, anda speedometer works off the final drive, its my assumption that the clutch is fine and that the drivetrain is screwed up, therefore providing no resistance whatsoever to stall the engine. does that make sense?

i've been through something like that before.. its either bad axles or somethings wrong with your tranny. but most likely its your tranny going bad or is bad.
have you ever used that tranny before and if so how long?

i bought this complete swap from Hmotors online, i finished puttin it in yesterday... and ive been stuck with this problem since then.
update on teh situation: i took the passenger side axle out, it was all worn out on the tip after the C ring, i filed it down so it would retain its original shape, the axle fit into the transmission better. i started the car, both wheels now spin, but they are absolutely torqueless in first gear, i can easily stop the wheels from spinning. any ideas whats a matter?

its the transmission man... the internals are busted. thats what i'ma have to say it is... go to a transmission shop and ask and i'm almost 100% sure that they'll tell you it has something to do with the inside of the tranny
