very true, if i had to do it all over agian i would have to seriously consider getting an LS and boosting it.

It all depends on the money man. I just bought an LS Special Edition and I would have much rather gotten a GS-R. I mean, with a GS-R, you already have a strong motor with a lot of torque. I think if you have money to spend though, you would be better off getting an LS and turboing it, or building a sick LS/VTEC. I mean you already have the block, just spend $800 on a B16 head, and you have a strong motor. But like eveyone else says, it is your money man, how you spend it is up to you.

yeah i heard ls/vtec kick ***...cause it has more torque and all you need to do is slap a b16 head on....well a least thats what i heard....but heas a question for all the O.Gs....from experience which would be the best way to go....ls(94-95) or gsr(94-95) for all motor???

lets clear something up, there is much more ls/vtec then slapping a head. you have to tap the head and run a new oil line, plus you need to to put the knock sensor some where, there is more involved to ls/vtech if you want it done right the first time. Look at about 3-4 g's to it right. Now for turbo, if you jsut slap a turbo kit on an ls, and you dont do anything the block then you will not gain much horsepower becuase you should only run about 5 psi daily, plus you run a much beiiger risk with turbo then saving for a gsr. go with gsr all motor. just my 2 cents

b18c1 (gsr) all motor. no question. B18B all motor? there's no such thing.

what the heck are you smoking. its gonna take waaaaaaaaaaaay more than that to have a RELIABLE ls/vtec setup, that makes any kind of decent power. ls/vtec not fully built= ls/vtec fully built=powerful but not worth the money.

okay thanx guys.....have couple more questions, well some what questions.....serious racers had told me that the only thing good about gsr is the vtec....and that a fully built ls(94-95 all motor, condering ls/vtec is still all motor which it is) runing a fully built gsr(94-95 all motor), ls will take the gsr....is this true??....is there really more things you can do with a ls than a gsr??...please only state facts, no guessing or whatever aiight...

The parts that you find for the ls will also be made for the gs-r. The gs-r is much better. Even if you boost both on stock internal, the gs-r already has 30hp more in stock form. If you build them both the same way, the gs-r will make more power. The reason most people get the ls (same with me) is cus of $$$. If you can get a gs-r, if not just get a ls. Dont get me wrong, a ls is great car, but the gs-r is better.

This guy has no clue. People buy LS's because they have a lower compression ratio, which is better for boosting, well turbo.

actually YOU are the one with no clue. what he said was right. the b18c1 is a better motor...and the b18c1 motor and tranny are better for boosting, so that makes your weak argument invalid.

Yeah, hes got it. If you can get any of the two, assuming cost isn't an issue, get the gsr. The gearing is a tad shorter, and shorter gearing is better okay people. Shorter gearing = you getting to your power band faster or something. I dunno the whole technical issue, but yah, longer gears aren't better.

Lower compression is good because you have a lot more room for error when tunning for turbo. But say you boost 10 psi on a gsr motor, and 10 psi on a ls motor, the gsr will be faster. Lower compression doesn't mean too much with a kick *** tunner.

and ummm someone clear this up for me. how do gsrs handle better then a ls? (they have such little difference i think, the extra 1 mm thick sway bar, and the front strut bar)

not to start a pissing match, but the LS motor is better for turbo. starting with more torque (while the peak numbers are deceiving, look at the torque curve... the B18B has more torque lower in the rev band. that is some of the reason why the GSR has shorter 3-5 gears, and a shorter final drive... so you can get to 5k rpms quicker. once you turbo, you want the longer gears to stay in boost longer.

I have had both an ls and now I have a gsr and once asked the same question. If you plan on just bolting on some mods then get the gsr...my buddies would rather have my 94 gsr for speed hands down...it really does pull away from there ls's and with bolt on's is much quicker. If you plan on spending a few dollars then the choice is up to you...if you really take car of your vehicle then a turbo on an ls is a good way to go...make sure that the car has low km and that the turbo gets properly installed and you will have a nice fast car but you have to keep and eye on it. If you plan on getting a gsr and opening up the engine then you will also have a nice fast car that is still good on gas and reliable unless you go crazy with the engine buildup...just remember if you want reliablility then moderation is the key. If you want a fast *** car then you'd better have some money becuase they tend to be finiky...either way good luck!
