LS dizzy with ls/vtec?

I have heard different stores from different people. So I figured I would ask to make sure.
Can you use an LS dizzy w/o any problems when going LS/vtec? I was told all you have to do is cut off one of the legs off the dizzy to incorporate the vtec solenoid and that was it. I understand its a little ghetto rigged but its better than spending another 150 bucks when you already have a fine dizzy.
Its a obd1 b16 head btw.
Thanks

that's exactly what u do. cut one of the legs off (bottom right, so it doesn't hit the vtec solenoid) i had to do that on mine, but it works perfect, and the cut is clean (if u have the right tools.)

I would say just sell the LS dizzy and buy the correct one... They come with three legs and three bolts for a reason... My .02...

of course id rather get a vtec distributor. But its almost 200 bucks for a brand new and and id be lucky to get 100 for my LS one that is basically brand new. So I could spend another 100 bucks on a vtec dizzy or spend 100 on tuning.
I just want to make sure it really works like i have heard.
