Default LS Crank/Rods in a GSR Block.

What's the pros and cons for doing such a thing, yes I have searched and around for info and I've heard that it will raise torque and such because of the better strokes the LS crank will give. Will there be clearance issues since I'm going to be using LS rods? And I've already bought the Golden Eagle oil squirter block off bolts.

Please shed in some info TIA.

If I remember correctly the B18c1 and B18b have the same deck height so it shouldn't make a difference. I'm pretty sure you can't run the oil squirters with the LS crank in the GSR block though.

It'll add torque, but personally I'd run the GSR crank/rods with ITR pistons for reliability.

Ok thanks for the info. I'm starting to just lean more into reusing the GSR crank/rods/pistons I just want it to be reliable and not a all out race car.

if your going for high rev's i think it's better off using gsr rod bearings. got it off omni's b16 build

If I remember correctly you must bend the oil squirters down just a tiny bit. Put arp hardware and it will hnadle the high revs. I know 3 people with this setup and I plan on doing so myself when I can find a gsr block

Yeah I got the block off bolts from golden eagle already, do you know if the motor is reliable or not?

It would be as reliable as you build it....

Basically you will be making an Ls/vtec without having to drill any oil lines, there seems to be some reliable ls/vtecs out there no?

PROS: more torque...

CONS: increased cylinder wall pressure by about 16%, increased vibrations, decrease in mean piston speed, and rods are not forged from the factory.

If it is done correctly, it is not a bad idea at all. Ls torque without having to machine anything, no conversion kits, etc..
