LS build
Hey whats up guys ive got a blown B18 thats just sitting around now. I blew it because i over reved it to many times i guess, after it blew i was told the LS motors arnt ment to be reved out like that hah bastards lol. so now sometime im gonna tear the block down and rebuild it and i need to know everything that i need to make this bitch rev to the sky no prob. everything for just the block, havent done a rebuild before so i need some ideas and i wanna make it a VTEC. And if can give me a estimate price range it would cost thanks for ur help guys.
damn thats expencive. most the power is in the head im sure. i just want to build a block thats hard to blow and can take a beating. any ideas on a decent set up thats not to expencive?
No matter what you decide, ur gunna spend the cash, man, hate to tell u. A B18 blocks a nice bottom end. P72 GSR pistons are great, Type Rs are better. For an N/A setup you shouldnt have to do anything to the block itself, upgrade-wise, but the higher compression u can get the better, depending on the rest of ur setup.
The guys above are right tho. Ur main power will come from the headwork, and money will be right around $1500 - $2500 depending. Ur looking at new (upgraded) ported and polished head, valves, springs, retainers, seals, camshafts and some other things. Portflow out of SoCal has a few great setups for hondas on a budget- and yes.. there are some that are more expensive. Hope this helps a bit, bro and GL with ur build!
