Default Re: ls block (Deentwon)

A couple things to realize is that the power is going to come from the head and higher compression. Also, I'm not sure if the b16 rods and the b18b crank can be used together ... but I'm not sure. That being said, here's what I'd recommend.

Head:
porting the intake and exhaust ports
getting a good multi-angle valve job (the more angles, the smoother the entrance to the combustion chamber)
open up the valve seats (~1mm in diameter) so that the valves can make contact at the edge of the valve.
keep the stock cams and valve springs

Block:
get higher compression pistons, something around 11:1 would make a huge difference and you can still use pump gas, probably 91 octane. I wouldn't worry about forged pistons. A cast piston is going to work fine for you, if you can find a set.

Other than that, make sure the machine shop picks out the correct main and rod bearings for you, unless you go with all OEM stuff, then you can use Honda bearings based on the number on the rod and the letters stamped on the block.

That should really liven up the motor and you'll be able to keep the stock computer. Maybe get an SAFC for basic tuning, and you'll be set! Hope that helps!
