lowering question
ok so last night i put on tein springs on my integra and it lowered the front about 1.5", i was happy with that so i put the rears on and it dropped it a good 4" in the back, now im pretty sure somethings wrong, would mixing the springs up and putting the rears up front and the fronts in the back cause this?
they were bought for a 91 civic but im almost 100% sure that they fit my DA but obviously not lol, im not complaining about having the rear tucked it just looks weird with the front about 2" higher than that rear.
also it rides fine so if this is a common problem(i doubt it) should i just get some coilovers for the front or go out and buy a set of full coilovers and replace all the springs.

i think im just gonna get some coilovers for the front and leave the back, i like the way it sits in the back and its a pretty decent ride, im sure that will change if i get coilovers though

i was actually gonna do that tonight but i looked at it and it doesnt look like it would fit very well if i cut the top of the spring off lol did you do anything other than cut the coils off like bend it a little where you cut it so it sits better?
as long as you dont cut the bottom it should fit no prob the spring is the same size all the way exceptlike 2" at the bottom so just make sure cut the springs the same cut it right were the coil stops strait down.

Never personally owned a better suspension setup.
Use suspension made for your car.

Please stop posting this "ghetto fabulous" incorrect information.
The OP didn't mention what shocks are being used, but if I had to guess, I would say probably stock. Cutting the springs would blow them out even faster than the aftermarket springs by themselves would.
Also, the top of OEM springs are flattened out to sit against the flat surface on the underside of the top hat. If you cut the top of the spring, the flattened part of the coil will be gone and the spring won't seat correctly, causing a potentially dangerous situation.

don't worry about me cutting the springs, i want it to look good but comfort and safety will come before looks so cutting, heating and what ever other method you can think of that would jeopardize safety and comfort will not be used

i dont think he said he wanted coilovers...im pretty sure he said spring strut combo.
...if your looking for a budget suspension go with some kyb agx's with some h&r. if you want to ball out a little more go for some illuminas and rsr's

I have cut many sets of springs and have never had any "saftey" issues. I cut them at the bottom and then they fit right in and the top is still flat. I agree it will blow out your shocks but so will any other lowering spring/coilover on a stock shock. I guess I just dont see where the saftey issue/dangerous situation is?

^^same here. i cut my springs on my first integra. all it did was give me a shitty ride and horrible camber but i never expeirenced any safety issues during the 8 months or so that i drove it like that. wich included several 2-4 hour road trips
Were is this potential safety issue with cutting springs? If you tighten your bolts down it wont come apart and the ride for the most part is the same as some shitty h&r springs or matrix and its the height that will expletive your stock struts, not the "spring". If you haven't done it your self don't comment on it. Most stock struts have a smaller bottom so if you cut the bottom of a spring it wont fit at all.

Integra's have Shocks, not Struts.
Go ahead and cut your springs, but if it was really that easy then why would the vast majority of people, including myself, shell out $1000+ for a good suspension setup?

I agree that AGX's and lowering springs are MUCH safter, and will provide better performance than stock shocks, or cutting stock springs. I would never consider illuminas "baller" though.

Because some people dont care about how a car handles they just like the look of it being lower and they wont rather spend the 1000 dollars one something more worth while.

Get over it. Even companys that sell them will still call them struts, yes they might be wrong but who cares you still know what they are refering to dont you? People are going to call them what they want and dont need to be corrected evertime they use a wrong term officer.
