Default Low Power Weak Timing Problem?

My 1990 acura integra would not start, i looked at the cams and the arrows were not pointing parrallel like they are suppose to. I adjusted them and the car started and ran but had very lower power. I was in 4th gear going 20mph, help! What can cause this, can the cams be off a little still? Thanks

Did the timing belt jump a tooth? or did you replace it? Is there a banging noise from the head?

I hope your crank is in the right position in relation to your cam sprockets/gears.

the lines on the cam gears did not line up when it was not firing. I lined them up but i think i was off a tooth so i think thats why i dont have much power, can that be it? Thanks

what engine are we talking about? for a 1.8 first line your timing mark on the lower pulley up with the line in the cover.make sure its the white mark farthest to the right. the orange(left) one is for timing make sure your at tdc number 1 piston, the piston on the driver side of the engine.next look at your cam gears they should be facing each other perfectly like this - - while your lined up with the white mark on the bottom pulley and plastic cover pointer.if not yes your timing is off.
