I have been noticing as of late that might interior lights have not been as bright as they were. To be honest since I have owned the car(94 gsr) that the interior lights were not as bright as my old teggy and my friends teggy. I thought it was no big deal. Anyway I noticed the other night that when I hit the throttle at around 3300rpms that the lights would dim inside and out...it has been doing it lately. So if I gun it at night my lights(all of them, including the headlights) dim. I had a new battery 1/2 a year ago and I had installed a grounding kit so that my grounds are good. All I can think is that it could be the alternator but I am not knowledgeable enough at this time to properly diagnois this. Any one encounter this problem?
thanks
I had a itr motor installed in my car 1 year ago but it didn't seem to affect the light situation at all. And my car is running just fine.

my 99 gsr does the same thing...if i back off of the throttle while slowing down the lights brighten up, but as soon as i tap the gas or let it go back down to idle they dim...im not sure what causes it though...
mine is the same thing...my lights dim when im crusing, but then when i let go the throttle, light goes normal...but, when im cruising and downshift that car and rpm goes up pass 4k...my lights goes back to normal again..
Since you installed a ground kit, than i assume that there can no problems with the ground side of the whiring. (if you did it right) since all the lights dim when you step on gas i think that the only problem can be the alternator(or slipping belt) To test that measure the battery and output voltages from the alternator, and see if they go down when you rev the car.

Or the battery could be on its way out..

This is a command thing for Integras, there's nothing wrong with your car. I have owned three integras and they all did the same thing. What is happening is when you hit the throttle, you're putting a load on the alternator causing it to work harder
which you'll notice when you have your lights on.

I am going to be bringing my car in to a friends shop to get the alternator hooked up and checked. If it turns out to be this as it should then I will get the alternator rebuilt at the shop. I will let you guys know the out come for sure.
Thanks for the advice.

I would try checking your alternator belt tension. If it is loose then tighten it, if it is tight then it is probablly your alternator.

Of course I am going to get this checked out very soon but it sounds as though I still may have some life left in the old alternator. Which is nice since that means I don't have to rush my *** off to get this fixed.
