Default Leak down test

What all is involved in a leakdown test? Is this something I could perform on my own like a compression test? If anyone could answer this I would appreciate it.

You'll need a leakdown tester1 or leakdown tester2 and a source of compressed air.

Did you try searching? It's a good habit I think you should develop.

its one of the easiest diagnostic things you can do. BUT, its a waste of time if you do it before a comp. test. if your compression test comes back normal; there is absolutely no reason to take a leak down test. you perform a leak down test to find out the problem if your compression results arent good. and hes right; all you need is the gauge/hose kit, and it connects to air compressors. save yourself the time and do a comp. test first, if your engine isnt running quite right.
