Default JVT Try-Y Headers??

Looked around and used the search but not much info has come up. Basically from what I read it is a cheap header? I was told that you could gain 16+ hp from it but it doesn't sound right to me so I'm trying to get an idea here.

If they are not great like I'm being told to believe then what is a better header to look for, for high-performance? Thanks.

hi

we have no idea......

1. what car you have
2. what engine is in it
3. what's done to the engine
4. what exhaust you have
5. if emissions matter
6. what your budget is

that will be $4.79 at the window please

try-y's are nice but watch out. i dont know the specivic brand you speak of but if yoru not worried about the nestalgia of having a spoon header or something like that then i would just make sure fitment and the merges are clean and smooth. if its a good price try it. a header with nice merges and bends is gonna give you gains any way you looka t it. ps if its availible in a brushed finish. get it. the brushed seems to be a bit more resiliant when it comes to discoloration and what not

Well what type of car I have is pretty big in blue in my sig. Stock B18c1. Nothing done. Stock exhaust. Emissions don't matter. Let's go with a pretty large budget for this one.

Sorry about that.

skunk2 megapower is one of the better bangs for your buck with a non emission header on a b18c. i say that only because of the extensive testing that's been done on it in the all motor forum. still, that's $700-800 for one of those. a used jackson supercharger setup is $100 and the ecu and tuning around $400. not suggesting that you do it, just that if you're goal is more HP, ask yourself how much you're after and plan accordingly.

Yeah that's what I've been planning. I am working on rebuilding a GSR Motor with performance parts and plan on turboing it but thats gonna be in a year when I have to get it resmogged and then I'll just drop the rebuilt motor and turbo in without having to worry for two years.

Basically what I want to do now is a h/i/e setup for now but nothing too expensive cause its pointless once I turbo it you know.

Alright now with a budget, for a header from 200-400 would you say a DC Header is better than a JVT Tri-Y?

Thank you for your help!

BUT, if you have to have something. edelbrock is the best emission legal header. it's a true bolt on. the 98+ JDM ITR will make slightly more power due to the 2.5" collector. pick one of those if you want a cheaper $300 header.

The money you save you can use towards a GOOD tuner. When you boost its more obvious a good tuner is a must and for some that means a helluva a commute to insure the tune is just right!
