What are your plans for the engine? Unless you are doing some pretty heavy internal work, those cams will be pointless for you and you will be spending a ton of money.

They are a aggressive cam and you would have to do additional work to use them. You'd need to upgrade your valve springs for sure, and retainers while you're at it would be a great idea. Also a tune would be very neccesary afterwards. Then you'd want to do other things to make more power, like higher compression pistons.

If I were you and just wanting to add the cams, i'd pull the head, hottank and resurface the head, new valve stems, some good valve springs and retainers, the cams and a good intake manifold/throttle body. Then a tune immediatly afterwards. As far as just throwing the cams in and going, far from a good idea.

if you got aggressive cams like that youll have to buy more internals just to make it compatable with your engine, if you want a good semi cheaper power increase. just get some itr/ctr pistons and some bolt ons

Are cam gears necessary. I have seen most people have them and they can tune to a different degree but I talked to a guy that owned a shop and he said there just for show and you can get the same from your stock cam gears..

And also im looking at getting the blox racing type a camshafts, it says the valvetrain doesnt need to be changed is this true? I know I shouldnt go cheap on it but is it really necessary
