Default Jet-Hot coating for header: Any first-hand experiences with this process?

Gentlemen,

Thanks to the group buy arranged by the always hard-working Carlex (Trey), I will soon be in receipt of a brand spankin' new JDM 4-1 header, as well as a new Carsound cat, for my GS-R. I've done some investigating about "Jet-Hot" (a high-tech coating process) for the header, and it seems like a solid investment. I was hoping to hear directly from anyone who has used Jet Hot to get your evaluative feedback and impressions. Thanks for taking time to reply.

Casey

Keep on reading below if you're interested in reading Jet-Hot's email reply to my request for a price quote. BTW, this company has impressed me so far. I got this reply a few hours after I sent it in. A few days latter, I get a very nicely prepared info kit in the mail -- they're definitely trying hard to earn my business.

Dear Casey,
I assume the 4cyl header would be bare or just painted. The price to prep and
coat in&out with the sterling silver finish(1300degree) is $165+$18s&h
back.Add $20 for the flat black, blue or grey finish(1300degree).The jet hot
2000 runs up to 2400 degrees. This coating only comes in a flat black, blue or
grey with a griddy finish on the outside. The jet hot 2k is $25 more than the
sterling silver finish.
All parts receive a 3year unlimited guarantee that covers chipping, peeling,
cracking, discoloration, rusting – anything. New parts also get a lifetime
rust through warranty as well.

Please ship your parts to:

Just be sure to include your name and return info. so we know who they
belong to and specify the finish of your choice. As for billing, you can
either include a credit card number with the parts or you can call one in to
the phone number listed below.

Thanks

is this just for corrosion resistance or is there a point to it (not being sarcastic), like is this some kinda ceramic coating or somthing that insulates the header, keeps underhood temp down, and the exhaust gases hot? If so, can they do turbo manifolds

Ricehornet, this process is supposed to have two main purposes: 1) to prevent rust, pitting, flaking, chipping and other problems related to heat, moisture, age, etc.; and 2) to dissipate better the exhaust manifold temperatures, leading to lower underhood temperatures and, therefore, better engine performance. This company claims that they do work for the aerospace industry, as well as gearhead stuff. It sounds like they can jet hot just about anything so they could probably do the turbo manifold. well i didnt go with jet hot instead i went with swain tech in new york
they only provide one type of coating which is called a lightning white coating supposed to reduce temps by 50%. i paid $165 for the coating plus $30 to have them ship it back to me when i paid $14 to ship it to them. i dont have it installed yet but if u want to see pics, i can email them just so you guys get an idea.
