Default Jack support using transmission case

so this tow truck driver was saying to use a 2 ton jack under my transmission to support the car while it's coming down the flatbed. Is this common practice? He said "it's safe". I don't think so, but he insisted that he did it million times. If anything is wrong with my tranny afterwards, can I sue?

I dont see any reason to have to use a jack to support your car when coming off a flatbed. I've had my car on a flatbed a couple times and not once was a jack needed to get it on or off.

Aside from it not being necessary, its not a good idea at all. IMO, its pretty ignorant.

Not at all. Your motor mounts are not designed to hold pressure in that direction.
