You will gain better flow by:

Bigger inner dimensions
mandrel bent corners (As opposed to crush)
Less restrictive muffler
And that equals more power..

For the going rate(~US$300) you cant beat it.

I have it and love it. I got a noticable improvement from just the axle-back, and even more improvement when I installed the ITR b-pipe and a DC 4-2-1. Sounds good, but it's still nice and quiet.

Do you have to replace the GSR Cat with the type -r one or will the b-pipe meet up nicely? also the dc 4-2-1 header, if you did change the cat, was this header then made for the type -r ?

sorry for my confusion... I was thinking of doing this same thing

i went from stock to the itr catback. i didn't notice any gain on the butt dyno. i then switched to an rsr axleback with the itr midpipe and actually noticed a difference. i would go with an aftermarket system unless you pick up the itr catback for cheap. i picked up mine for 120!

I have the ITR B pipe with an HKS Super Dragger rear section, and I love it. The only thing you may need to change is the flange that mounts up to the cat,. no big deal just saw the old one off your Stock Exhaust, make sure all teh measurements are right. (Or better yet, let a muffler guy do it)
I have been using this system for 4 years, and Im sure there are better ones out there , but I also picked it up cheap. I have also been using this exhaust with 10psi for 2 years, and it doesnt seem to slow me down at all.

I am interested but I doubt they would fit on a 3rd gen 4dr since they are longer?

Itr exhaust is a decent exhaust, but it's chambered unlike most aftermarket setups. If you don't mind sacrificing a little performance for quieter sound. If I had a gsr and was looking into an exhaust system I would get a SMPT hybrid header and 2.5 inch piping with a high flow cat. Taun claims this setup is good for 20hp on a stock gsr.

If your gonna invest, invest right!! This would be a great starting point for a mild to wild NA setup.

20 HP is an unheard of Gain on a stock GSR from exhaust, I have owned a few Hondas, 2 GSRs , and From my experience, Exhaust makes very little difference until you start doing other engine mods, Cams, Compression, Forced, etc.
Honda exhausts are known as one of the best tuned factory exhausts around.

Best of luck, let us know how it turns out.

i bought the axle back for my 4dr and had the tip extended a bit to fit on the 4dr. the b-pipe has to be extended as well. i have a custom 2.25inch piping with type r axle-back and it feels and sounds pretty good. not loud until you step on the throttle

He did say header and exhaust although that is still way overly optimistic

you will need to extend the b-pipe 4 inches where the flange for the cat is...

exactly.
also ITR exhaust is SS, mandrel bent, bigger diameter and flows 30% more than GSR exhaust.
ITR exh>GSR exhaust

I guess you guys never seen a smpt hybrid header. ITS HUGE!!! The header requires a custom fit because it extedns farther than the cat. If you cut if off were the primaries end it still would be longer than a DC header.

This header gives you 4-1 topend power with midrange gains of a 4-2-1. Learn more about it at team-integra. Taun talks about it in technical pages. Go there for pics too.

Are you referring to the SMSP header? On a nearly stock ITR it gave almost the same gains as any other header. As someone said above, there isn't much to be had until aftermarket cams etc.

The SMSP exhaust system he is talking about is the COMPLETE exhaust system, header, cat, mid pipe, muffler, check out this link http://www.team-integra.net/sections...sp?ArticleID=2
