no its not worth it...if you have a beast it might be good. imo not worth it and your gas mileage will be over the roof.

you just get more air to each cylinder but for the money and the limited power not worth it

Like anything else there are distinct advantages and disadvantages. Unlike most anything else, it seems like 90% of the people who inquire about ITB's seem to be completely missing the point.

Ideally, you would be putting a setup like this on a car that spends it's entire life on a track and stays between 5k and 8k rpms pretty much all the time. The two most notable advantages to many ITB setups are an observable increase in torque (onset and duration dependent upon the setup in question), and mad crazy throttle response. Obviously this can be advantageous to certain people, however the disadvantages can quickly and easily outweigh the advantages.

It's completely possible that you'll lose a bit of top end power. It's completely possible that you'll have to sell your soul to afford all the necessary tuning. It's completely possible that you'll have to adjust the idle a couple of times a week. It's completely possible that your car will feel sluggish when cruising around town. Etc, etc, etc, etc......

That said, I wouldn't recommend a setup for a daily driver. But if you're committed to the principle, they can be a lot of fun on a car that doesn't see the grocery store parking lot very often. I've had one ITB equipped daily driver in my life and I doubt I'll have another, in spite of the fact that it made for a great conversation piece.

Gas mileage really depends on the tuner. Len here on Honda-Tech was getting 30+ mpg with Toda ITB's on a built ITR several years ago, thanks largely in part to phenomenal tuning by Jack Harris. Naturally this is the exception and not the rule, but it goes to show that it is indeed possible given the right circumstances.

I don't think ITBs are strictly meant for track cars. When properly tuned, they should improve the efficiency of your car. If you decide to lay on the pedal, that's going to dump fuel regardless. Check out this article from way back when. From ImportTuner

i still wouldnt do it. gotta spend money to buy the ITB then spend more money to tune it. and its on a DD. i dont see myself spending the extra cash just to have the ITBs.

i like em and everything but i wouldnt do it unless im actually building a motor.
