intermediate shaft support
I have a slight grinding noise coming from the drivers side under the car. It sounds like it's coming from directly in front and down. The noise is independent of rpm. However, speed and temperature affect in the frequency and volume. I strongly believe it's the intermediate shaft bearing.
Has anyone replaced one?
I purchased the bearing and seals for the job. I really don't want to take the shaft support to the dealership for the dis/assemble, they want $96 for the work
I've been told of a few machine shops that will do press out/in the parts for dirt cheap. Will they be able to do the job properly without the recommend(by Helms) special attachments and dis/assemble bases? I hope so, because $96 is alot for a 15-25min job.
