Default Interior lighting...

Not sure if this should be posted here or in tech/misc or somewhere else. If so, mods please move it.

I just order these off ebay.

I was planning on installing them on the driver and passenger side kick panels like newer/cars that have better lighting than tegs. But what I wanted to know if anyone knows how i'd wire them. I want them to be active like the dome light. When a door opens it turns on, and so on. Anyone know how I would do this? Obviously wire it in to the dome light, but how?

TIA

i'm just speculating: Is the sensor the detects when a door is open near the front of the door or the rear? Either way, you could just and remove the paneling around that and test the wires to find out which one gets power when the door is open, then run that wire to your light, and ground the light to the car somehow.

Yeah, teg lighting suxxx bigtime. Have fun trying to find something on the floor at nighttime with that useless dome light. I looked on ebay for some kind of small light, and bingo, these guys came up. 5 bucks, so if it works, awesome, if not. Oh well. I just needed some help on how to wire em.

This is what I was thinking of doing tomorrow since it's my day off. but instead of sitting there all day with my DMM I was hoping someone on here would know something.

Hopefully I can get it done and make it look clean. I'll take pictures.

I put one of those B-1 Hybrig ( polarg ) hypoer white bulbs in the dome light. It seems to work just fine ( its like hella bright )

Good luck on those light installs though. Post up some pics when you're done

I know I know, went to Pep Boys/Auto Parts Extra and picked up a "Super White" interior dome light. If your tired or drop money, or even just a migrane when that damn overhead light is on your going to be in trouble. Best $2 Ive spent on my car

you are buying lights because you lost a quarter??? and i didnt realize that the map lights were not available in the rs, hmm, anyway you should be able to find the wires like they said, or just install a switch and a fuse and come straight from the battery

The lights came in today, i'll do the install over the weekend with pics. I think i'm going to wire it into the door sensors on the doorjam. Without taking anything off or looking at it inside, it seems pretty simple wiring. So they go on and off with the doors. I just have to find out where to mount the lights for them to be semetrical and look clean/stock.

I'm doing this on tuesday/wednesday. I have those days off. I wanted to put them on the front and driver side kick panels, but on the driver side there's too much ****. I'm going to wire them onto the switch on the door jams from the inside rear quarter panels.

when u figure out what to do and decide to install it u shud make a write up with pictures, because i also think the inside of the integra could use more light. i dropped something on the floor of the front passenger side and i couldnt find it at night

I actually dropped about 4 dollars in quarters once on the driver side and I couldn't find it until the next day when it was light outside. . Make sure to post up pics and instructions.

you could hide some white neons under the dash and have them turn on when your doors open. it'll be a cleaner look since there is no actual light fixture to be seen, just the glow of white on the floor.
