Integra window compatibility?
Hey guys, I'm new here but people at another forum I frequent recommended you guys when it comes to Integras and the like. Well, I just got myself an integra and the previous owner used this film tint crap on the windows. I also have a friend who's integra died and he's going to junk it, he has a 1994, mine's a 1999. I was wondering if I could steal his windows and put them in my car because taking off that film tint is a pain and I could get the windows for free. Thanks for your time.
Removing window film isn't very difficult if you do it properly. I'd personally just remove the film rather than go through the effort of swapping the windows themselves.

I have 2 sets of front windows, and it takes < 30 minutes to swap both sides. Stupid tint laws and fix-it tickets. Swapping the back would take more time than its worth, just remove the tint.

Well, oddly enough just the driver's side is tinted. So, I thought instead of going through the trouble of taking off the tint just swapping out the window would be easier. I hear that stuff is a pain in the **** to remove.

Well you have to take off the door panel to unbolt the glass from the window regulator, and you also have to pull out this rubber strip and unscrew the track that the window rides in (that black plastic piece in the upper corner of the glass). Then when putting the other glass in you have to adjust it, and then figure out some way to stick that rubber strip back on that covers the screws in the track.
IMHO pulling the tint off will be easier. It'll just stink like you won't believe. Be sure to do it outdoors, the smell of the adhesive can get rather choking if you're not out in fresh air.
Also get a bottle of Goo Gone to get all the remaining adhesive residue off the windows. Make SURE you get ALL the adhesive off. If you don't the adhesive will catch that rubber strip along the top of the door panel when you roll down the window and will make the window very hard to roll down. It'll probably make a really nasty noise, too.
