My buddy just picked up an integra with ls vtec in it... its hard to explain but the shifter goes side to side but dosnt wanna move easy... and when it does it clicks into place... it still will go into gear... but its just really hard to move the shifter in any direction and it clicks wen it does move? Sorry if this is confusing but this is the best way i can describe it. Thanks!

I think you should jack the car up and grab a parts diagram for the shift linkage and shifter and see what your missing.
People are lazy and tend to not install necessary hardware.
If its all there then you may want to look into purchasing a speed factory modified oem shift selector.

It is possible previous owner installed new poly shift bushings. Mine was extremely hard to move when I first installed. Def take a look underneath and take some pics if you need help figuring if something is wrong or if you have new shifter bushings.
I bought ED hatch with one of the linkages installed upside down. It'd press on the exhaust pipe making it hard to get into gear. I flipped it and it was good to go.
otherwise is it possible they're D-Series linkages?

sounds like something is binding under the car.
On integra's, it's impossible to install the main shift linkage upside down (the bracket for the shifter itself will only let it go one way) the support bar I don't think can be installed upside down because of the way the shifter bolts into it. It sounds like you're saying it moves side to side ok, but going in and out of gears is stiff? Maybe the bolt that's holding the shifter itself is over tightened. This would cause the linkage to pinch the shifter.

Check fluid in clutch reservoir to make sure cluch is disengaging properly. When mine gets low(has leak obviously) it gets harder to put in gear.
Edit- its possible the wrong linkage is in the car or shifter bushings are shot and something is binding as others have been describing.
