Yea your synchros starting to go out. There is a transmission fluid that you can use and it will prevent the grinding a lot before it gets worst. If you want I will ask them what they used and post it on here for you. You better hurry up and do it before it gets worst. Just let me know if you want to post the transmission fluid they used.

Sounds like you have a problem with your 5th gear synchro. In the worst scenario, when it gets real bad you won't even be able to shift it into 5th at all. Your best bet is to replace it but if you don't have the cash flow yet. Just don't get on it from 4th to 5th for now until you come up with the cash to fix it.

GM Synchromesh fluid, get the Modified Friction type. It's a temporary solution but lots of members swear by it. I'll see how it works next week when I do my swap.

No problem. I'd just stick with the GM fluid... Redline fluids are ok but I don't think they were as good as the money you pay for it. I did an oil change with Redline oil and with a Mobil One filter, it came to over $50. I wasn't really impressed with the performance... didn't seem any different from Castrol that I used in my GSR motor. Now that I have a JDM B16, I'll just stick with Mobil One from now on.
