Integra I/H/E???
So, I just picked up my 97 integra gs non vtec. its only had 2 owners its whole life and I want to do some modifying to it. I have already done basic maintenance to it to get it up to par. Right now it is completely stock except for a little exhaust tip that the previous owner put on before me. I want to first get a short ram intake and a full yonaka catback exhaust. My only question is do I need to get any other additional piping for the exhaust to meet up with the headers (test pipe). I am new to the scene so just fill me in. Thanks.
If you get a "catback exhaust" like the one you mentioned (
), it starts from the catalytic converter & goes back, all the way to the tip. Hence the name catback.
You mentioned you have a test pipe; did you replace your catalytic converter with a test pipe? Either way, the catback exhaust should bolt straight up to your catalytic converter/test pipe, which is bolted to your header.
tl;dr You should be fine the exhaust should bolt right up to the test pipe/cat

Keep your stock intake on unless you have it tuned. If anything just buy a good flowing drop-in filter.
You have Cat-Backs which are just are piping, resonator and muffler. (you keep the stock exhaust manifold and Cat).
And full exhaust systems which go all the way to your stock exhaust manifold. (replacing the Cat) Unless you get a kit that comes with a header as well...then well, your're replacing the entire system.
OR if you don't want the hassle of changing out your stock exhaust manifold but want to get rid of your stock Cat, you can just get a Cat-Back and also a Test Pipe/High Flow Cat to replace the Stock Cat.
