Yes if your O2 sensor is old/has lots of miles on it you could see a nice increase in gas mileage.

What year car is this on?

Procedure for replaceing the o2 would be..

Jack the car up.. Use a jack stand.. at the bottom of the exhaust manifold right before the catalytic converter.. Loosen the O2 sensor and unplug the harness.. and replace.

If you have problems removing the O2 i suggest using PB blaster or wd40.

theres probably 4-5 threads telling you yes. you will improve gas mileage.
its pretty easy, but you need to get under your car.

from my understanding, it is located on your cat, closest to your exhaust manifold.
you will have to unbolt your cat from your exhaust manifold, and pull your cat down to see the o2 sensor and bung. there is a special tool for your wrench to take it out. looking up a picture of the 02 sensor, you will see what im talking about.
replace and reset your ecu and youre done!

search function and reading is key...

to reset your ecu, i believe the easiest way is to disconnect your battery, and leave it off for.... five minutes. i dont know how long it takes for electricity to cycle out of the electrical system. dont worry it will not effect anything except your clock and your radio settings etc...

good luck
