I definately did not jump on the bandwagon. I do what I want to my car and I could care less. If you ask any of my friends or the people that know me.. I could give a **** what they think about my car. I do what makes me happy and thats all that matters.

I came across a good deal and I liked body kits back then. It was a clean conversion and I never regretted it. Eventually got sick of it and had a buyer already for it. Sold it and went with a Tsunami front lip. Always loved the look of the ITR front lip so I found one. Came across the OEM sides and rear for $50 from someone that didnt know what he had so of course I'm not going to turn down a deal like that. Now my car is boosted with an H22.

And YES I do have some Volks. Theyre quality wheels and they look good. YES I have Recaros. Theyre comfortable as **** and anyone who has ever sat in a set will agree with me. So what? I do whatever the hell I want.

Just because things look and feel good and everyone has them means its a bandwagon? I guess washing your car is a 'bandwagon' too. Since everyone does it and its an exterior thing. Maybe we should all just throw away our OEM lip kits because its a trend. Dont be jealous just cause you cant afford the good ****.

Damn.... tuff crowd to impress..anyways... I liked only two CL light conversion kits....The California Bomb and Cali Thunder kit....Right now I got the Cali Thunder kit and NEVER REGRETTED IT!!

If you read my "useless" comments earlier you will see I only spent $50 on the OEM kit which isnt really big spending... unless it is to you.

Here's where I disagree with your statement. Of all the car shows I've shown up at ( and not directly participating in, I've received many a compliments from DOMESTIC HEADS even for the OEM JDM Front end on my ride. Of course I always get the "jealous" looks too as well as compliments coming from import heads. How is it rice when it is liked so much by so many? Isn't rice generally something that even fellow import heads would give you **** for.....much less domestic heads?

 

most of the people i converse with at the track arent giving two ***** about whats jdm on their car = /....now ppl at car shows...that i cant speak of...i dont go to those or participate in them (havent seen too many track cars at HIN...most of the cars i saw at that place were spotless under the hood with chrome here and there )...in fact most of the faster cars i can think of arent jdm at all...at least in my area

and as far as whats rice?? i dunno my definition differs from yours...cause it has nothing to do with what other people think...i think a ricer is another word for a poser..you know people that claim to be enthusiasts but dont know an impact wrench from a torque wrench....people that dress their car up as if its got something behind it (but underneath its a stock car)

though our definitions may differ, it still somehow follows parallel ideals for what is considered "rice" or a "ricer". To me it depends on the person. So a person has a GSR or LS and gets the JDM front end. So what? They want to make the car look nice. Nothing wrong with that right? Now...if they bought the front end, shaved the side moldings, got the 5 lug and all the nuances and claims to be a Type-R without so as much popping the hood or anything....then the car isn't rice...but the driver sure as hell is Then again....how many people in here can't tell if someone is lying or not?
