Default intega exhuast question.

i was wondering if there was a difference in the ehxuast size of a 94~97 GSR / LS / TYPE R.

I would like to know b/c i will be installing a jdm dc 4-1 96~97 type r header and i hope everything will fit in perfectly. i think the dc header is a lil longer than my stock 94 header. i will probably get an aftermarket high flow cat. will my 94 stock GSR exhuast fit?? i will be getting an aftermarket exhuast later.. but not at the moment.

All MY RS/LS/GS/SE/ITR and '00/'01 GS-R exhuasts are the same length. The header collectors are also the same length.

The '94 to '99 GS-R's have the same exhaust. I think somebody needs to correct me on where the '00 GS-R's stand tho.

The JDM DC header will be a little bit longer b/c they're made for the ITR's, which have a naturally longer header.

You'll probably have to chop off a few inches of your stock B-pipe to make it fit, but you if you're going to be installing a JDM header with a 2.5" collector, you'll have to either: change out the cat/reweld a 2.5" flange on the front of your stock cat/go open header.

That's if it's really a JDM header. Not trying to call BS on you or anything, but nowadays, everybody and anybody will call anything JDM.

edit: had to clarify a few things.

:c)

Well, the exhaust on a 3-dr GSR is shorter than the exhaust on a 4-dr GSR, same goes with the other models except the TypeR since there's no 4-dr TypeR in the States. Also, if you look at most of the aftermarket exhausts, they're listed as "for GSR" and "for LS/TypeR". I didn't spend too much time finding out why, but I'm sure there must be a reason for this, I assume the cat lengths are different.

Header for a Type R will fit any LS/GS/RS, but wont fit for a 94-99 GSR. In 2000 they changed the exhaust system for the GSR to match the other model Integras.
