I have the DC ram air intake on my Gsr, and was wondering if I should make that homemade cold air intake or should I just purchase the cold air extension for the DC. Will the homemade make more power or will the DC. Noise does not matter, power does, is there a big difference or not.

I guess you can just try to replicate DC's design specs. Maybe even try to make a tapered design like the Iceman. Either way, i doubt there will be any significant power increases, if any, that the genuine DC part will put out over a well, self-made extension.

 

In my mind i had a short ram and cold air in the past, and i liked the short ram more because the cold air killed throttle response. The crisp throttle was well worth losing 1-3hp up top.

 

i made my CAI out of 3" flexpipe! Ghetto as hell, but sutis me great!

 

gots a AEM cold air, and i love, id say go COLDAIR, even tho u get throttle response with the short ram, i like the added HP
