Default intake question

my cousin just bought a gsr motor. it didnt come with an intake. he was wondering if he should get a sri(aem, injen etc.) or just go to the junkyard and get a stock one.

depends on what his goal with the car is. If he has future plans buying one of the Edelbrock Performer X manifolds is a great idea, if not get a stocker. The Skunk 2 is basically an ITR copy from what i gather and costs less than the Edelbrock piece, drawback is that it also makes less power from what the guys in the all motor section are saying.

just get anything with a filter on the end...you're not going to see any difference in power gain by picking one or the other...

PVC and K&N, or dryer hose and panty hose. lol, seriously, AEM makes a decent sri for around 100 bucks +/-

yeah intake is not really gonna give anything more than sound and slight throttle response. the guy who had my gsr be4 me thought it would be cool to hook up and injen filter to the stock intake rubber hose....
